Leading energy software business, Kaluza, today announces that its former Chief Operating Officer, Melissa Gander, has been appointed as the company’s new CEO to accelerate its international expansion.
Melissa joined as Kaluza’s COO in 2021 following her role as OVO Group COO during OVO’s landmark acquisition of SSE Energy Services Group Limited, an operational and technical integration of 3.5 million customer accounts. Part of OVO’s 2009 launch team, Melissa led the business’ award-winning customer service operations, helping OVO cement itself as a digital-first challenger brand which disrupted the UK market.
Over the last two years, Melissa has developed Kaluza’s operational and commercial functions as it broadens its global client portfolio, bringing advanced automation, agility and game-changing demand response services to energy retailers across Europe, the US, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
The appointment comes as Scott Neuman steps down after nearly three years as Kaluza’s CEO. During his tenure, Kaluza grew to a 450-strong global organisation, scaled to millions of customers, and established new hubs in key markets including the US and Australia.
