London – Kaluza, the leading intelligent energy platform, today announces three new leadership team members in the US and the UK as it ramps up its international commercialisation.
Neel Gulhar starts as Kaluza’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) based in Washington DC following his role of Vice President of Product at Oracle. Previous to Oracle, Neel directed Marketing at Opower where he helped lead the high-growth Software as a Service (SaaS) company to IPO and acquisition. Neel has extensive knowledge of the utility sector having spent over a decade working for US majors Exelon and Baltimore Gas & Electric. As CMO at Kaluza, Neel will develop and lead the business’ Marketing and Regulatory function, leveraging his rich experience in B2B SaaS marketing, product, and utility platforms, as well as the US’ burgeoning demand response market.
Adding to Kaluza’s US team is Ryan Palacheck who takes up the role of Vice President of Delivery. Ryan brings nearly 20 years of experience in technology-based transformation in the energy and utilities space – most recently at Oracle where he oversaw global delivery for the Opower business. Before Opower, Ryan consulted utility clients on large-scale transformation programs at Accenture, specialising in smart metering, demand response, customer engagement and field operations. Ryan will lead Kaluza’s newly-formed Delivery Team responsible for providing clients with an outstanding experience throughout their journey with the Kaluza platform.
Tammy Naicker joined Kaluza last month as Risk & Compliance Director following her time at Vodafone as Global Head of Technology Assurance where she created their first Technology Risk & Compliance team. Tammy has over sixteen years’ experience in audit, risk and compliance and has held various executive and management roles across major brands including Barclays and KPMG in Europe and Africa. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in building exceptional risk and compliance strategies that ensure safe, secure and reliable solutions for customers. At Kaluza, Tammy will oversee compliance with technology and regulatory standards while driving good governance and sound risk management practices.
Kaluza brings advanced automation and agility to energy utilities, providing the tools they need to transform their operating systems, adapt to changing regulations and lead in the energy transition. The platform enables suppliers to actively engage millions of customers in their energy use through personalised digital experiences and insights that help them reduce their carbon emissions and energy costs. Kaluza’s world-leading flexibility technology is also primed to solve escalating grid volatility challenges through its electric vehicle smart charging innovation, including vehicle-to-grid (V2G), and intelligent demand response.
Kaluza was launched in 2019 out of the UK’s third largest energy supplier, OVO Energy, and has grown rapidly to over 400 people across the UK, the US, Japan and Portugal. The company signed a licensing and investment agreement with AGL Energy, the largest retailer in Australia, in March 2021. Kaluza has a growing roster of global automotive and smart hardware partners including Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), BOSCH and sonnen. Together, Kaluza is developing new ways of dynamically storing renewable energy in homes and electric cars to create a more resilient, green energy system that rewards customers.
Scott Neuman, CEO at Kaluza commented:
“To build a world-class platform, we need a world-class team. 2022 is set to be a momentous year for Kaluza as we power progress towards a resilient and affordable energy system.
We look forward to empowering more energy companies with Kaluza’s AI automation and expanding the largest footprint of V2G technology in North America’s advancing demand response markets. I am therefore delighted for Neel, Ryan, and Tammy to be joining our diverse leadership team, helping lead the business into the next phase of its evolution with their wealth of expertise.”
