LONDON, UK – 10 July 2025 – OVO Group, parent of one of the UK’s largest energy businesses, announces the appointment of three new non-executive directors to the boards of its companies OVO and technology platform, Kaluza.
OVO appoints Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia DBE FRSE to the role of Independent Chair of OVO, taking up her position in September. Kaluza appoints Miguel Gaspar Silva and Andy Cox to its board, both in non-executive roles.
The new non-executives bring a wealth of experience to both businesses which, coupled with ambitious global expansion at Kaluza, mark a new phase of strengthening across the Group.
The Group also marked the stepping down of Justin King CBE, who was thanked for his significant contribution as Group Chair during his tenure.
OVO Board Appointments
Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia, DBE, FRSE: A distinguished leader in financial services and public sector governance, Dame Jayne-Anne brings an exceptional track record to the position of Independent Chair. As Lead Non-Executive Director at HMRC and founder and former CEO of Virgin Money, she offers a unique blend of commercial acumen and deep insight into complex regulatory environments, skilled in improving customer satisfaction.
Her extensive career also includes six years as Retail Managing Director at RBS and Senior Advisor at Salesforce. Her understanding of consumer markets and regulatory frameworks will be instrumental in guiding OVO’s continued evolution and navigating the dynamic energy landscape.

Kaluza Board appointments
Miguel Gaspar Silva joins the Kaluza Board as non-executive director, bringing immense expertise at the intersection of energy and technology. His tenure as VP and Global Head of the Utilities Business at SAP, GM Energy & Natural Resources at SAP, and ESMIG Vice-President provides him with an unmatched understanding of the energy sector’s technological demands. Having spent the majority of his career in energy and utilities, Miguel also serves on the board of a number of other emerging energy technology companies and start-ups, further underscoring his commitment to innovation in the sector.
Miguel Gaspar Silva commented on his appointment: “I am proud and energised to join Kaluza’s Board of Directors. Andy Cox joins as non-executive director and brings deep strategic leadership and extensive insight, strengthening Kaluza’s market development capabilities. He currently serves as Head of Energy Transition at Howden Group Holdings, where he is the sector lead for Energy & Infrastructure, overseeing a broad range of financing solutions.
His previous role as Executive Chair at Zoa, an AI-powered electrification platform, brings valuable experience in energy technology and the accelerating shift towards electrified homes. Previously, as a senior partner and Head of UK Energy & Natural Resources at KPMG, he worked extensively with key international markets, including Japan. His experience and vast network will be crucial in strengthening Kaluza’s relationships and expansion into these vital markets.

Kaluza Drives Global Expansion
Further underscoring its strong growth trajectory, Kaluza is embarking on a significant international expansion with a robust global hiring programme over the coming months to meet the increasing demand for its advanced energy technology platform.
As part of this expansion, Kaluza recently acquired Australian energy software specialist Beige Technologies, a strategic move that strengthens its presence in the APAC region and enhances its ability to deliver intelligent energy solutions to commercial energy providers around the world.
